It was written in response to racism. Those why say that ‘the social gospel’ is a distraction from the gospel are wrong. The gospel IS social. Of course, a lot of events have moved on since this book was written but the general principles are the same. The a|About the Author|John D. Davies is Principal of the College of the Ascension, Selly Oak, Birmingham.
