This one has been edited to remove controversial but previously contained material that has no recent discovery to make it irrelevant, and yet the material has been removed anyway. Case in point the "ark of the covenant' entry. The older version makes reference that th|About the Author|William Smith served for many years as the classical examiner at the University of London. He compiled his three-volume Dictionary of the Bible in 1863, and a four-volume American edition was issued in 1868-1870.
